My Recommendations! Fall Season 2015!

Hi everyone! It’s been a while..I finally have a chance to do what I want to do instead of being busy all the time. I have few reviews planned, including a light novel review, few interesting manga titles and anime series that recently caught my attention.

If I were to put it into words, there’d be a lot of comedy, ecchi and action with one comedy/parody combo! So that’s something I am looking forward to, and hope you are too!

Alright, so the Fall season is just around the corner, with many shows starting right next week! I certainly am hyped for quite a few of them, and I heard quite good things about many others. I’ll try to pick the shows that I feel you should check out mixed with my “personal favourites” from this season that I am most looking forward to. So, let’s start off with recommendations for Fall Season of 2015!

Rakudai Kishi

Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan

Studio : Silver Link

Broadcast Starts : October 3rd 2015

TAG : Action, Fantasy, Romance, School

Preview : Click!

The “school sword action” story revolves around Magic Knights, modern magic-users who fight with weapons converted from their souls. Ikki Kurogane goes to a school for these Magic Knights, but he is the “Failed Knight” or “Worst One” who is failing because he has no magical skills. However, one day, he is challenged to a duel by Stella, a foreign princess and the “Number One” student. In this duel, “the loser must be obedient for life.”

This is the show I will be recommending for days to come, unless it gets screwed up pretty badly, though the chances are slim. Coming from the studio that brought you Fate/ Kaleid Liner Prisma Ilya, a Tale of Worst One shapes up to be one of the favourites this season. You can check out the manga, or the light novel it’s based upon to see why I think that. The main dude is a badass in a way you would never expect him, and the romance isn’t there just because.

OPM

One Punch-Man

Studio : MadHouse

Broadcast Starts : October 5th  2015

TAG : Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Seinen, Super Power, Supernatural

Preview : Click!

The story revolves around the titular super hero who has trained so hard that his hair has fallen out, and who can overcome any enemy with one punch. However, because he is so strong, he has become bored and frustrated with winning all his battles so easily.

Every season comes anime that generates immense amount of hype and awe. This time, it’s One Punch-Man. The first episode was leaked into the internet, and those who checked it out were really amazed. It’s based on a apparently very good source material. I have seen first few chapters back in the day, and I didn’t quite feel it, but I know why people like it. It’s different, and has some of the more impressive artworks I’ve seen. As such, unless MadHouse screws this one up completely, you’re in for a ride if you decide to watch it. And you should.

The stage is set in “another Japan” as a banquet of diverse superhumans unfolds…
In an imaginary “age of gods” about 20 years after the war, Japan has grown and developed by leaps and bounds. What if all the superhumans ever written about in fictional stories existed at the same time? Superhumans who came into existence through different circumstances, and who are special in different ways — Titans from outer space, lifeforms from a mystical world, phantoms and goblins from ancient times, cyborgs created by scientists, relics that rose out of the ruins of ancient civilizations, and the list goes on. One segment of these superhumans makes no secret of their existence and has gained popularity in society. Others cloak their identities and fight in secrecy.
There are enemies of superhumans as well, organizations that operate in the shadows.
The Japanese government has taken many measures to secure peace and order.
One is the establishment of an organization under the Ministry of Health and Welfare — the Overpopulation Research Laboratory, a.k.a. the Superhuman Bureau.
Their mission is to identify and approach suerhumans, then oversee and safeguard them. One member of the Superhuman Bureau, Jiro Hitoyoshi, is protagonist of this series.

WELL…After such a long-ass synopsis, what should you expect from this series? Well…anything really. Seeing as studio Bones delivered quite a few good series, this one may just be the next big thing. Underdog, of some sorts. It’s packed with literally everything you can dream of, so I doubt you will be bored. I was thinking of writing a little bit more, to match the oh-so-long synopsis, but hey, they explained what’s about way better than I could ever hope for without copy-pasting it again, so there you go!

Sakurako San

Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru

Studio : TROYCA

Broadcast Starts : October 8th 2015

TAG : Mystery

Preview : Click!

The series revolves around Shoutarou Tatewaki and Sakurako Kujyou. Shoutarou is a normal high school student with a serious demeanor who likes to show off his girlfriend Sakurako. Sakurako is an extraordinarily beautiful woman in her mid-20s from a rich family who loves “beautiful bones.” The two live in the city of Asahikawa in Hokkaido, and they get involved in various incidents regarding bones

This is the mystery series that’s been missing for quite some time in recent seasons. It shapes up to be really good thing, considering the source material is very good. The theme of the series has something to do with the bones. Not just any bones – beautiful bones. The mystery factor is what makes this thing interesting and mysteries made around bones are not your usual type. All in all, I would definitely give this series a shot if you are in desperate need of something unique, something that’s probably never been done before.

Utsuwarerumono

Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen

Studio : White Fox

Broadcast Starts : October 4th 2015

TAG : Action, Drama, Fantasy, Sci-Fi

When I came to, I realized I was standing in the middle of a vast, snowy plain I knew nothing of. I didn’t know how I got there. And to add to that, I couldn’t remember anything, not even my name. I stood there, dumbfounded at my absurd situation. But then, as if to spite me further, a gigantic monster suddenly appeared, an insect-like creature that began to bear down on me. I tried desperately to run, but it cornered me into a hopeless situation. It was then that the girl appeared. Her name was Kuon. It was this beautiful girl, who bore an animal’s ears and tail, who saved my life.

This series is a big random factor. The premise seems interesting enough, especially considering it has a tag of Sci-Fi. Honestly, I have no idea what to expect. It was done by the same studio who brought you Akame ga Kill, Hataraku Maou-sama and Steins;Gate. Think for yourself if that hooks you in. I have no idea how it’s going to turn out, but my best guess is that it’s not going to be mediocre. Either bad, or good, no middle ground.

And that’s it from me this time! Watch out for a lot of reviews in forseeable future! Also, if at all possible, leave a comment about a series you think should be mentioned here, or with a feedback. I’d really appreciate it, and it’d help me grow and become better at what I do! Thanks for reading, and see you guys soon!

My Recommendations! Summer Season 2015!

Hello everyone. So, this is a thing that I’ve decided to do on a whim. But, 2015 is already a year of a bigger amount of good to amazing series than the ones before him in recent years, as such I thought “Hey, maybe you should write a recommendation about few series so that people can look forward to something”…And so, here you are, reading this. I guess I’ll be doing those for anime seasons and maybe sometimes a whole studio recommendation, or director..We’ll see. Right now, Summer Season 2015!

Chaos Dragon

Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Sen’eki

Broadcast starts : July 2nd 2015

TAG : Action, Fantasy, Supernatural

Preview : Click!

Based upon the role-playing fiction project of 5 notable character designers :

  • Gen Urobochi (Fate/Zero)
  • Kinoko Nasu (Kara no Kyoukai)
  • Iduki Kougyoku (Mimizuku to Yoru no Ou)
  • Ryohgo Narita (Durarara!!)
  • Simadoriru (Member of Stripe Pattern Doujin Circle)

The story takes place in the sparkling era year 3015, where the great nations Donatia and Kōran divide the world in a cold war as they fight for supremacy. In the middle of this standoff is an island-country Nil Kamui, which has lost its independence. The Guardian of Nil Kamui, the Red Dragon, goes out of control. Will the country be able to regain its independence?

Anime seems very promising, starting from the original creators that are very well known for producing high quality content..It’s also based on already finished novel, which means we could potentially see it ending, or 2nd season announcement, since source material is there. I am hyped for this.

Dragon-Ball-Super

Dragon Ball Super

Broadcast starts : July 5th 2015

TAG : Action, Adventure, Comedy, Martial Arts, Shounen, Super Power

This series needs no introduction. It’s a long-awaited (maybe not necessarily needed) sequel to Dragon Ball Z. The story takes place after the events of DBZ, and will also be after the events of movies Battle of Gods and Resurrection of F.

The series is said to be 100 episodes long, which means it’ll run for about 2-2.5 years. (various breaks included). Will it be good? Only time will tell, but, for Dragon Ball fans all around the world, this is definitely a good news!

DUrarara x2 ten

Durarara!!x2 Ten – Broadcast starts

TAG : Action, Mystery, Supernatural

Second cour for the second season of Durarara!!x2 Shou. It was split into three parts, and this is the second one. Haven’t watched it myself, but it has a lot of fans, so the news about 2nd cour should be more than welcome. Is it worth it? Ask yourself after watching first few episodes! PS. Totally worth it.

Gangsta

Gangsta.

In the city of Ergastulum, a shady ville filled with made men and petty thieves, whores on the make and cops on the take, there are some deeds too dirty for even its jaded inhabitants to touch. Enter the “Handymen,” Nic and Worick, who take care of the jobs no one else will handle. Until the day when a cop they know on the force requests their help in taking down a new gang muscling in on the territory of a top Mafia family. It seems like business (and mayhem) as usual, but the Handymen are about to find that this job is a lot more than they bargained for.

Mafia focused anime series isn’t all that common, and this one goes even further, making it about characters who interact with various mafia families. It looks really well, and has a very interesting premise. I’d suggest keeping an eye for that.

Gate

Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri

Broadcast starts : July 4th 2015

TAG : Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Military

Preview : Click!

The military fantasy series begins when a gate appears in Tokyo’s Ginza district sometime in the 21st century. From the gate pours out monsters, knights from middle-age Europe, and other fantasy-like beings, and they kill many of the citizens of Tokyo. This event is known as the Ginza Incident. On the other hand, the major powers outside the Gate such as the United States, China, and Russia were extremely interested in the abundant resources available in the Special Region. They began to exert diplomatic pressure over Japan.

Gate seems pretty cool to me, not gonna lie. The concept of something appearing out of no where in Japan has been used many..many times, but this series will incorporate other countries except Japan, and I guess this is the thing that piqued my interest. Look forward to it.

God Eater

God Eater

Broadcast starts : July 5th 2015

TAG : Action, Demons, Fantasy, Supernatural, Military

Anime adaptation of Bandai Namco’s PSP action game series “God Eater.”

Set in Japan in the year 2071 where the world has been mostly destroyed by mysterious monsters known as the Aragami. An organization known as Fenrir was made to exterminate Aragami using weapons called God Arcs which is made from the cells of an Aragami. Those who specialize in exterminating Aragami are known as God Eaters. Originally God Eaters had one type in which their God Arcs can only keep gun form or blade form, however a new type has been discovered that can switch between gun and blade form. Since then, they have been classified new-types and the previous as old-types.

Fans of the game are currently screaming like little girls. Everyone else I think is hyped as well given that the studio behind God Eater is ufotable. The art looks different and amazing in the preview, AND since we’re talking about ufotable here, amazing animation is bound to happen. Even if the story line is going to be rather meh, at least animation is going to be god-tier.

Joukamachi no dandelion

In the story, the everyday lives of the nine super-powered siblings of the royal family are monitored by more than 200 surveillance cameras and broadcast nationwide. The people of the nation who are watching the broadcast will have the ability to elect the next monarch. The story focuses on Akane, the third-oldest sister who can manipulate gravity. She is shy and desperately does not want to be caught on camera.

This series is the comedy I’ll be looking forward to this season. Seems amusing enough, with the royal family being watched all the time..Yeah, I totally dig the concept. I expect it to deliver in comedic aspect, not sure about seinen or action, but who knows, I may as well be surprised in a positive manner.

Prison School

Kangoku Gakuen Prison School

On the outskirts of Tokyo stands Hachimitsu Private Academy, a storied all-girls boarding school for elite young women full of potential and good breeding. But as the new school year rolls around, one tradition is going out the window: For the first time in the school’s long history, boys are being allowed to enroll. But on the first day of school, only five boys make the cut. Kiyoshi Fujino, one of the lucky few, is thrilled by this discovery, his heart leaping with joy at the thought of being surrounded by all those girls, day in and day out. But little does he know of the shocking fate that awaits him.

I’ve read few chapters of the manga, and seen some later scans..As long as it won’t get censored to hell, this is going to be an amazing series. But, that is assuming there will be no censorship. This series is really weird, even though it’s supposed to be comedy, source material proved that unless you call a stick in the butthole a comedy, expect some weird shit. I don’t think that this will run for that long to reach that point, but nonetheless, I’ll suggest checking this series out.

Kuusen madoushi

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan

TAG : Action, Drama, Fantasy, Magic, School

The story is set in a world where humanity, driven off the land by the threat of magical armored insects, now live in aerial floating cities. Thus wizards—aerial combat mages who fight the insects with magical powers—came into being.

Kanata Age is a young man who lives on the floating wizard academy city of “Misutogan.” He was once celebrated as the “Black Master Swordsman,” the elite ace of the S128 special team; however, he is now despised as the “traitor of the special team.” One day, he is assigned as the instructor of E601, a team that has suffered ten consecutive defeats. E601 has three girls—Misora Whitale, Lecty Eisenach, and Rico Flamel—with one or two peculiar quirks.

Gave me Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance vibe, just without the harem tag. Three girls and one guy who appears to be the MC and pretty badass from the get go. And the girls have some kind of quirks, I’d guess they have to do more with their personality rather than their skill, but it very well could be both. A series to relax to, and not think too deeply about in my opinion, hope I’m proven wrong. Otherwise, I’d still watch it just to chill out with a beer and pizza on my desk.

Monster musume

Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou

Broadcast starts : July 8th 2015

TAG : Comedy, Ecchi, Fantasy, Romance, School, Harem, Seinen

Monsters—they’re real, and they want to date us! Three years ago, the world learned that harpies, centaurs, catgirls, and all manners of fabulous creatures are not merely fiction; they are flesh and blood—not to mention scale, feather, horn, and fang. Thanks to the “Cultural Exchange Between Species Act,” these once-mythical creatures have assimilated into society, or at least, they’re trying.

When a hapless human named Kurusu Kimihito is inducted as a “volunteer” into the government exchange program, his world is turned upside down. A snake-like lamia named Miia comes to live with him, and it is Kurusu’s job to take care of her and make sure she integrates into his everyday life. Unfortunately for Kurusu, Miia is undeniably sexy, and the law against interspecies breeding is very strict. Even worse, when a ravishing centaur girl and a flirtatious harpy move in, what’s a full-blooded young man with raging hormones to do?!

Oh boy where do I start with this series. Monster girls falling in love with human guy who happens to be a very kind person..Oh where I have seen it..nowhere really. Monster girls aren’t very popular concept in a harem AND ecchi AND romance genres. Now, I have read the manga, in fact, I’m up to date with it. What I can assure you, is that if you’re looking for a lot of comedy with fanservice and sometimes serious plotlines (there are few every now and then) this is your pick for Summer 2015.

Overlord

Overlord

Broadcast starts : July 7th 2015

TAG : Action, Fantasy

The story begins with Yggdrasil, a popular online game which is quietly shut down one day; however, the protagonist Momonga decides to not log out. Momonga is then transformed into the image of a skeleton as “the most powerful wizard.” The world continues to change, with non-player characters (NPCs) begining to feel emotion. Having no parents, friends, or place in society, this ordinary young man Momonga then strives to take over the new world the game has become.

Sword Art Online of this season..except without the things that “ruined” it, which is Romance and Harem. Oh boy, this has the fundaments to become AOTS (Anime Of The Season), but it may crumble just as easily. I’d say give it a chance and see for yourself, as it definitely seems like something worth a shot.

Ushio to Tora

Ushio to Tora

Broadcast starts : July 3rd 2015

TAG : Comedy, Demons, Shounen, Supernatural

Preview : Click!

Ushio thinks that his father’s talk of an ancient ancestor impaling a demon on a temple altar stone with the legendary Beast Spear is nuts, but when he finds the monster in his own basement, Ushio has to take another look at the family legend! To save his friends and family from the invading spirits, Ushio is forced to release Tora from his captivity. But will the creature prove to be worse than the curse?

A second adaptation of a very old manga with updated art. Will it be good? Definitely shapes up to be. It’ll more than likely have the good old shounen vibe present in YuYu Hakusho or Inuyasha, with modern animation and art. Give it a chance? Hell no, just watch it. I assure you this is going to be really good.

FINAL WORDS

Summer 2015 shapes up to be a season worth waiting for. It’s right around the corner, as such, I think writing this may be just the help you need with picking the series to look forward to. Tell me in the comments what are you going to watch! Maybe even recommend me stuff, it’s up to you! Enjoy the Summer 2015 Season!
